It helps to know roughly how many trees are involved, what service you need (removal, trimming, stump grinding, etc.), and whether there are any access constraints such as fences, power lines, or tight driveways. A photo is helpful but not required. We will assess everything in person.

It depends on the tree species, size, and your property type. Sarasota County and the City of Sarasota have tree protection ordinances that require permits for certain removals. We are familiar with local requirements and can advise you during the estimate. When a permit is needed, we handle the process.

We use a combination of rigging, sectional dismantling, and bucket truck access to bring trees down in controlled pieces. Every removal is planned before the first cut. Our ISA Certified Arborist assesses the tree's lean, root condition, and surrounding hazards before we begin.

Full cleanup and haul-away is included in every job. We chip branches on site, cut the trunk into manageable sections, and remove everything. We leave the property cleaner than we found it. If you want to keep firewood, let us know before we start.

The best timing depends on the tree species, its health, its growth cycle, and the purpose of the pruning. Dead, broken, or hazardous limbs should be addressed promptly, regardless of the season. For routine structural pruning, our ISA Certified Arborist will recommend the appropriate timing and approach for your specific trees. In Southwest Florida, proper pruning cuts and the amount of foliage removed are just as important as the time of year.

Trimming typically refers to shaping a tree for aesthetics by removing overgrown or crossing branches to improve appearance. Pruning is a more targeted practice focused on tree health: removing dead, diseased, or structurally weak branches to improve the tree's long-term structure and reduce risk. We do both.

Most mature trees benefit from a professional inspection and light pruning every 3 to 5 years. Fast-growing species, palms, and trees near structures may need more frequent attention. We can advise you on a maintenance schedule during your estimate.

Yes. Proper crown thinning reduces wind resistance and the risk of branch failure during storms. We follow ANSI A300 pruning standards for storm preparation. Topping (cutting the main trunk or large scaffold branches) is not a safe or effective practice and we do not do it.

Stump grinding uses a machine to grind the stump down several inches below grade, leaving the root system in the ground. The site is usable and the stump is no longer visible. Stump removal extracts the entire stump and root ball, a more intensive process that leaves a larger hole but fully clears the site for replanting or construction.

Most stumps will not regrow after grinding because the grinding process destroys the cambium layer. Some species, like laurel oak, can send up sprouts from remaining roots. If regrowth is a concern, we can treat the stump with a root-kill application.

We typically grind 6 to 12 inches below grade, which is sufficient for most landscaping and lawn use. If you need a deeper grind for a concrete pour or construction, let us know and we will adjust.

A tree or large branch that has fallen on a structure, is blocking a road or driveway, is leaning dangerously after a storm, or poses an immediate threat to people or property. If you are unsure, call us. We would rather you call and find out it can wait than have a dangerous situation go unaddressed.

It depends on your policy and the circumstances. Many policies cover removal when a tree has fallen on a covered structure. We can provide a detailed written invoice that you can submit to your insurance company. We recommend contacting your insurer as soon as possible after storm damage.

Yes, fully insured for tree work in Florida. Proof of insurance is available on request. Just ask when you call or at the time of your estimate.
